John and Paul “Whitey” Willms recently donated $6,000 to Friends and Families of Sarah Bush Lincoln Fayette County Hospital to support future cardiology-related needs. They will be recognized in the new Medical Center under construction on the hospital’s Vandalia campus. This memorial donation was made on behalf of their parents Norma and Gerald Willms and brothers, Melvin and Joe Willms.
The $15 million, two-story brick, metal and glass building will span 42,000 square feet and will be complete later this summer. The first floor of the building will house primary care, physical and occupational therapy, occupational medicine and Express Care – three services currently offered in other leased Vandalia facilities. Primary care providers relocating to the new facility include Richard Funneman, MD; Jeff Jenson, MD; Bruce Braswell, PA-C; and Deidre Langston, FNP. It will feature 24 exam rooms, X-ray and phlebotomy services. The second floor of the building includes space for specialty clinics and business offices.
“We’re very thankful to John and Whitey for their generosity to Friends & Families and the many lives their gift will touch, all in memory of their loved ones,” SBLFCH CEO Karen Dyer said. “We’re proud to recognize them in the new SBLFCH Medical Center that will bring many services already offered here in our community, under one roof. It’ll provide for the easiest access to quality healthcare for our patients. It will also give us the space to expand specialty services to meet the demand of growing healthcare needs for our friends, families and neighbors.”
